We got word yesterday
via two postcards in the mail,
that BOTH Scotty & Maya
won a top ten spot in their age division
for the Creative Communications
poetry contest!!!!
This contest is not just for North Carolina,
but for the southeast region of the U.S.
This is a big deal!
Both kids earned the honor of being published
in a hardbound anthology,
but are now in the running for up to $2,000
in other prizes, including savings bonds.
We celebrated this exciting event
with a dinner out at Chili's, :)
(and lots of hugs and kisses, too.)
We'll let you know what the results are
of the second round of the contest
as soon as we hear anything.

under Spring 2010 winners.

We are so very, very proud of both these creative kids!
Now, maybe getting them to enter the essay contest next fall
