Swimming and reading...but not at the same time

For about three weeks now,
the kids have been getting up in the morning
to swim at a pool here in Cary
called Triangle Aquatics Center.
They jump in and they swim...
not play, mind you,
but swim laps for 30 - 40 minutes.
They love being in the water,
and they talk about how much they like swimming...
when it's over.
The getting up early part is what's difficult,
especially for Mylee.
Doesn't she look sad?
Waking up before 10 is early for Maya.
This was at 8.
Don't feel too badly for her.
Scott's a fish.
Actually, they both are.
Maya's just a noisier fish than Scott.
Scott swims,
while Maya comments between each lap
about what is ailing her as she works out. :)
She's ready for the swim team
they'll both be joining once our move is over, though.
And sailing school, too.
This is before we cut Scott's hair.
Short is where it's at for those goggles.
Maya enjoys seeing the wet spikes on the back of his head
when he's swimming in front of her, too.

Athletic kids.
Gotta love it.

We have three book club meetings next week
so Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday afternoons
will find us at the Cary library.
On May 27th,
we start the Summer Reading Program
being held by Barnes & Noble, too.

June will hopefully bring the results
of the Poetic Power poetry contest as well.
Both kids are anxious to find out
if either one of their poems
made the top ten for their age group.
We will be sure to let you know
as soon as we hear!
