We went back to school today
on a somewhat limited basis.
The kids were getting that,
"Too much summer"
look in their eyes...
boredom and restlessness had kicked in
even though our summer has been filled
with lots of fun activities.
Eight weeks is about what they handle.
We will be doing classes from 9 - 11 each morning,
perhaps skipping this Wednesday for our
scheduled trip to the movie theater.
Just getting them started for the full year ahead.
Scott's Bugfest entry
I ordered books from Creative Communications in mid July.
Scott's poem is in the K-3rd grade book,
Maya's is in the 4 - 12th grade book.
I am anxious to get them in the mail
sometime in September.

Both of our kids will be entering the essay contest
on October 19th.
They are more excited about it now
than they were for the first round.
They at least know now what to expect.
Scott is entering into the
North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences
Bugfest contest.

Maya has nearly completed her reading for the summer.
Scott, well, not so much.
I backed off on the pressure.
He's a "it's summer, I need some space"
kind of kid.
All bets are off, though, as of this week.
He will be reading.
Next week we'll be doing full days
four days of the week through the end of August.
Our relocation happens before September 1st,
so things will get jumbled a bit,
but it's good to be back.
